BIO

Billy Livsey is an international songwriter and musician currently based in Nashville, TN, after spending many years living and working in the UK. Among his many accomplishments, Billy has worked with a wide variety of artists cutting across all genres of music including pop, R&B, Americana, indie, jazz, and country.  Icons such as Tina Turner, Ronnie Lane, Leo Sayer, Gallagher & Lyle, Tanya Tucker, Michael McDonald, Cliff Richard, Travis Tritt, Brendan Benson, Kevin Ayers, Rodney Crowell, Curt Smith, and Pete Townshend have benefitted from his session expertise.  His writing credits are equally as varied with songs recorded by George Strait, Lorrie Morgan, Anita Baker, Paul Young, The Weather Girls, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Milsap, Paul Carrack, Shakin’ Stevens, and Ronan Keating. Billy’s chart hits include a country #1 for Mark Chesnutt with “Almost Goodbye,” and UK top five hits for Five Star with “System Addict” and “Rain or Shine”.  He also played keyboards on Tina Turner's Grammy winning song of the year, “What’s Love Got to Do With It."

Billy also has credits for film and TV music including “Breakfast on Pluto” (starring Cillian Murphy) and the TV series “Sons of Anarchy."  Recently, he has written and produced two EPs of instrumental music for film and TV.

Billy has been a long-time volunteer teaching artist at W.O. Smith Music School in downtown Nashville.  He currently coaches the school's student rock band, Grand Theft Audio.  Grand Theft Audio has performed sets at the Ryman Auditorium, the Pilgrimage Fest in Franklin, Tennessee, the National League of Cities Conference, the NAPA 401k Summit, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
